Check for a EGR valve stuck slightly open,remove and check passage way.vaccum leaks at manifold were always a problem with these trucks.also the 1 bbl. carbs. would work there way loose at the mid section u might want to check that.Also make sure the mechanical advance in distributor is not sticking.These engines were also known for lifters giving out around that mileage ! BUT THEY WERE GOOD ENGINES !!Hope this helps. Randy
