I use a Englander free standing stove with a Chramic combuster is good for 2400 SQ FT house , But wood has to be dry I cut one year for next . I have enough cut and stacked for 1 1/2 winters. This stove is about 85% efficent . is ten years old you can now buy reg wood bunners that are that efficent .it uses about half the wood as the stove it replaced .I use Natural Gas "Package unit with A/C" for back up unit . Also have 5500 Watt electric start generator for backup power, by using wood for primary heat power unit is big enough to use during power is off . like last week was off 23 hours due to wind storm .
