First was a brand new 23 hp with loader and backhoe, small but handy and did alot of work for the size.

He traded that in for a new 30 hp machine, same set up. Overall, very handy little tractor, HOWEVER ...

Since basically day 1 the backhoe hydraulics have been "loose" meaning, when not running, the boom would fall toward the ground noticably over an afternoon, now if falls all the way to the ground overnight (no visible leaks). Also the hoe has power problems, especially when running about 3hrs, and the loader seems like it should be stronger.

The dealers first response RE; the backhoe boom falling overnight - "It is within Kabota's tolerances", and they were not going to do anything about it; this was a brand new ca. $28K tractor mind you. They have had it for 3 extended periods so far (tractor is a bit over 1 year old now) and still have not fixed it.

One man's story, but quality and service my brother has experienced has been pretty bad.
