ok as most of you know i do landscaping and first you need to lime your yard with the granule stuff. if you hadnt added that dirt i would say dethatch it. ok back to the subject. leave the dead grass there. disc it in let it sit for about two days and the grass will rot. now that your yard has a good base of nitrogen and top soil and sand. depending on where you are i would just spread a 40 pound bag of centipede. if you dont know it grows well in sand once you get that done water it for about two hours a day. about two weeks later add some more lime and just keep watering it. if the spot isnt to big i would seed it then add some straw. that keeps the moisture in. if you do that just water it for about an hour or maybe and hour an a half.
