Hi Dave, This old machine has been setting since forever in a shed; at least 10 years or more. When I cracked the port, I heard the tinyest "pfft" and there wasn't even enough of the old stuff left in 'er to register on the gauge. So, I just put in one can, the pressure switch snapped closed, the compressor clutch came on and I then just used the engine to pull in the rest. Darned thing is building ice all the way from the compressor to the expansion valve and the compressor is cycling in time with the temp contol, so seems to be working pretty darned good. :>) Allan
