Of Tim's Truck and TAs...

Half napping this afternoon... For some reason I really don't want to think to hard why Tim's truck was in my dreams. But it did make me wonder why there is a Torque Amplifier like system for pickups to give the pull power to get started or go slow off-road...but use high gear ratios for general purpose on highway use for mileage. I guess it wouldn't save enough gas to justify the cost...but jeepers, you see so many RV Queens out there that pull a camper or boat a handful or two of weekends a year and are a daily commuter the rest of the time. (Side rant...I can't stand the ratio in my '03 Ranger stick shift because it doesn't go slow enough to control off-road with tire spin and riding the brake unless I put it in 4-Lo...)
