I know what you're saying about the load vs fuel consumption, but I've never found that it worked that well with gas engines. Diesel consumption is much more proportinate to load than gas, I find. The gassers just burn it anyway, whether or not there's anything to show for it. The buggers burn gas whether they're doing anything or not. Our old 860 was like that too. It burnt 2.5 gph, working or fartin' around. That's basically why there isn't a production run gasoline tractor made today, or for that matter, in the last 25 years. Diesel is so much more efficient.
