We used to plant about that many acres of pumpkins, we used an old tomato/cabage planter that you pulled behind a tractor. Two people sat on the planter and alternated placing the seeds in the furrow. The plus with this was the planter had a drum on the back that we mixed water/fertilizer to give the pumkins a shot to get started. We seemed to space them pretty well with practice
