The smoke is most likely crankcase ventillation. There is no PCV system on these engines; they just blow bypass gases out the stink tube. That tube is likely located just behind the fan, which then spreads the mess around. This will often seem excessive on a Ford engine. That said, I would carefully check yours over, and make certain that there are no headgasket problems. A leaking headgasket could force more compression into the oil gallery, which is then exhausted through this tube. Gases could also be forced into the cooling system, thus forcing coolant out the overflow tube. Coolant can also migrate to the engine oil, if the headgasket is leaking. You would do well to seek some professional help on this before you work the machine. A gasket is rather cheap, a complete rebuild from having oil and water mix is not. You may not have any significant problem either, but it won't hurt to check. From what you describe, something sounds funny. Good luck. Rod
