I buy a fair bit on ebay. I have had a fairly good experience with buy on ebay. I pay for everything by cheque. Most sellers want to wait 2 weeks after receiving your cheque until they ship the goods. If you take 3 - 7 days for the seller to receive your cheque, wait 2 weeks before shipping, and then another 5 - 10 days for you to get the parcel (by post) you've got the better part of a month if every thing goes well. Some will wait the 2 weeks before shipping and others do not, possibly depending on ones feedback. I find I receive a lot of the purchases in about 3 weeks after I mail the cheque. I've had some run to over 4 weeks and I was getting nervous but then it would show up just a few days later. I've had a pretty good experience on ebay. I've only had one guy who I thought was going to beat me. In the end I guess I came out OK. I didn't get what I bought but I got something for the value after numerous phone calls. (I bought something a little on the cheap side and he told me he made a mistake and didn't have any more. He had some poor feedback when I bid and later he got quite a bit more and I think ebay kicked him off.) I find most sellers are very co-operative and responsible about their business. This has been my experience over probably somewhere around 300 buys over the last 4 - 5 years. Those who display an attitude in saying "no this" and "no that" etc. I just pass on. I'm not talking about someone who declines to accept cheques or some other exclusion stated in proper terms. There are a few who display an attitude in stating their terms.
