WHAT IS A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR A SELLER TO SEND AN ITEM ONCE HE OR SHE HAS RECEIVED PAYMENT. I SENT A CHECK, (WHICH SELLER OPTED FOR AS CHOICE OF PAYMENT), WHICH SELLER CONFIRMENED RECEIVING NINE DAYS AGO. SO FAR ALL I HAVE RECEIVER FOR MY CHECK WAS AN E-MAIL THAT SAID THANKS!!!! COMMENTS???

I purchased an item from a guy on this site once who lived in Canada. He shipped the item before he had time to get the check. When I pay by check I don't expect a quick turn a round though. Korves Oliver offered to ship me some parts and inspect them before I pay for them. I guess I'm getting off topic though.

What gets me are these guys selling tractors and want them picked up in seven days. I bet that cuts down on the bidders.

WHEN I SELL AN ITEM I ASK FOR PAYMENT WITH A POSTAL MONEY ORDER. THAT IS THE ONLY MONEY ORDER THAT IS FAIL SAFE. AS SOON AS I RECEIVE THE P.M.O., I SHIP THE ITEM THE SAME DAY. SAVES A LOT OF HASSEL.THEY HAVE ALWAYS WORKED FOR ME.

check my feedback. 727 100% positive at last count and I ship the next day. Have only had one returned check and it as a western union money order, the customer made it right. I just don't feel right about holding another man's money.

I buy a fair bit on ebay. I have had a fairly good experience with buy on ebay. I pay for everything by cheque. Most sellers want to wait 2 weeks after receiving your cheque until they ship the goods. If you take 3 - 7 days for the seller to receive your cheque, wait 2 weeks before shipping, and then another 5 - 10 days for you to get the parcel (by post) you've got the better part of a month if every thing goes well. Some will wait the 2 weeks before shipping and others do not, possibly depending on ones feedback. I find I receive a lot of the purchases in about 3 weeks after I mail the cheque. I've had some run to over 4 weeks and I was getting nervous but then it would show up just a few days later. I've had a pretty good experience on ebay. I've only had one guy who I thought was going to beat me. In the end I guess I came out OK. I didn't get what I bought but I got something for the value after numerous phone calls. (I bought something a little on the cheap side and he told me he made a mistake and didn't have any more. He had some poor feedback when I bid and later he got quite a bit more and I think ebay kicked him off.) I find most sellers are very co-operative and responsible about their business. This has been my experience over probably somewhere around 300 buys over the last 4 - 5 years. Those who display an attitude in saying "no this" and "no that" etc. I just pass on. I'm not talking about someone who declines to accept cheques or some other exclusion stated in proper terms. There are a few who display an attitude in stating their terms.

Don, I pass on things that sellers with an "Attitude" are selling also.... Just last week, an item I really wanted, I had watched it all week.I read all the stipulations before bidding & decided to pass on it. It was obvious that the seller thought the world revolves around her... Item sold way less than it should have, I guess lots of other bidders passed on it also.

Check with Your Bank and ask if the check Cleared, if so, then let them know your check has made payment and you expect the goods, The Banking industry is speeding up the Check process electronically, so that will be a plus for us, ask your bank if they have this process in the works..

I buy and sell on Ebay quite a bit. MOST sellers will tell you they want 10 to 14 BUSINESS DAYS for the check to clear before they ship. Unless you had a prior agreement stating otherwise, you might have to wait a few more days. John
