on 9n's & 2n's there was a bracket on the head with a hole for a 1/2 in bolt with a spring on it the bolt would go through the generator band then the spring would go on then the nut then through the head bracker the spring would keep the belt tight you may have to adjust the posion of the band to make it work . the right front wheel steering hits the generator when the right wheel comes up all the way also get a belt that is as short and still get on
