Les, Not quite Lewis and Clark, but there is a reconstructed Army post, circa 1825, Fort Atkinson, located in Fort Calhoun Nebraska, about .5 hour drive north of the city, And its built on the site most feel was the actual Council Bluffs meeting with the Indians. Also just north of there, on US 30 east of Blair Nebraska, at the Desoto Bend site,is the museum of the SteamBoat Bertrand, quite extensive, cargo that was recovered from the boat, which sank in the 1860s. Both sites within 45 minutes drive of the city. Nebraska city is good, but not certain Arbor Lodge is open at this time of year. You can visit ArborLodge on the net. John in Nebraska
