Sometime in the late 60s in Northern Wis. the temp. at our place was -49° F and -54° in towm. I was driving a 62 Pontiac Tempest wagon. At the time we had no electricity at the time at that place and the car was about 1/4 mile from the house because of snow drifts. We loaded an old enamaled dishpan with charcoal got it going well and slid it under the crankcase. In an hour or two I was able to start the car.
