Ya know John, I hafta agree with you. We have a 4640, 4430, 4020. My grandpa has a 4030, 3020, 3010. My other Grandpa had a 4240 and 4440. My Father-in-Law has a 4430 open station, 4020, 3020, 1050. The place I work for has an 8300, two 8110s, 7710, 4450 MFWD.

The odd man out is my dad's 1086. It was a horrible tractor to shift but it could outpull the 4640 due to an aftermarket MFWD and it went faster down the road(I saw "was" because it's sitting in the back of the shed with yet another blown engine).

If I ever get into farming, I hope to own a 66 series tractor. They're cheap power and all the die-hard IH guys seem to own at least one of that series. Must be the best series they made, eh? Now, if I could get the front end from the 1086 to bolt up...

You ever hear of that 1468(or is it 1568)? Supposedly, it was a V8 and you could shut off 4 cylinders to rake hay or other light duty work. Wonder if they had any reliability issues since they don't continue to make them. It sounds like a good idea....
