Jim thank you for the quick response.I AM IN DIRE NEED OF GETTING THIS TRACTOR RUNNING.I have a repair manual on order, but in the meantime need lots of advice.I have a lot of mechanical background but none on IH 460.It appears to me that it is necessary to separate the front end and power steering housing from the engine in order to remove the crank nut and pulleys just to remove the front cover and plate. This going to be a big job because of the loader being attached.Unfortunately the idiot who assembled this engine, did not use gaskets There is Permatex #2 in all mating faces. Probably this compound has closed the oil ports.I have removed the oil filter assy. and intend to block the forward gallery port and introduce a pressure thru the 1/8" IPT opening just behind the front plate, having removed the small allen head plug.I probably wont be successful but if this works will save me a mountain of labor. What is your take on this procedure.Am I correct in assuming front end must be moved forward? Thank for your assistance. Ol Chief
