OT-got screw at muffler shop need advice

sent wife to a national chain muffler shop to replace muffler. they did that no problem,BUT they also told her she needed a new air filter.Her being the air head that she is said ok so they sold her a $6.50 ait filter for $23.00. now if that was all then it would be my fault for marying a braindead wife how ever here is my beaf. the crooks removed scraped 1 of the 3 "don't remove" stickers off the lid then removed my $50 K&N washable filter and trashed it. Are there any sage words of advice or guidance for me when I call and discuss this with the manager tomorrow?
