Well, this is just my opinion, so don't get mad at me, I'm only 21 anyhow....First thing I would do is to find a neighbor or someone who would want to farm it for a while. That will keep it from getting all grown up. Is all 120 acres tillable? Then in the mean time you could get a tractor and a bush hog and keep the place mowed down and looking nice. I would look towards about a 65 horsepower tractor or so, depending on what you want. That size tractor will pull a 4 bottom plow, about a 12-14' disk, and an okay size planter. I personally like IH, and would reccommend a 656, 686, or 666 or something like that, but all the major brands made decent tractors. I would buy something that is a popular brand like a Deere, IH, Massey Ferguson or maybe even a Ford, so you don't have to hunt for parts. As for a combine, I don't know if you really need one on 120 acres, seems you could get a neighbor to do it for ya, and save your money, but you can find older combines for about $5000 or so, but I don't know if you could use them to harvest say corn from these new planters, as the rows are pretty narrow, but then new planters are pretty expensive as well. If I were you I would check out this link to fastline, it will give you a good idea of equipment costs and also of anything for sale in your area. Good luck, hope everything works out for ya.
