Problems with the charging system are always a possibility, but that should only affect starter operation. Doubtful any part of it will cause the engine to die while in operation. The fuel system is all mechanical, so once running, nothing electrical is required to keep it running. The oil light. Assuming it's on when the engine is stopped? That's how it should be. It should go out once the engine starts and oil pressure builds up. If it's on with the engine running, that's a different matter.
I would be more concerned about why it stops while you're using it. You replaced the fuel filters. Did you see any evidence of dirty, nasty stuff on top of the elements or in the bowls when you took them off? Did you have any trouble bleeding the system after changing them? Did you make sure not to place any seal rings on top of the elements before you installed them? When you try and start it after it quits on you, do you have to bleed anything (fuel wise) or just get the starter to turn it over again?
