ive used furnace silicone sealer. remove rust apply ,let engine warm up no muffler let it idle. next day run it lot longer maybe half hour . after that good to go. the elbow on my 411 b was ate out .new gasket n applied that silicone on both sides of gasaket let set up n hasnt leaked in 3 years. friend uses it on bad clamps on big trucks lite bead around both above n below the slpice tighten n remove any that squeezes out. helps keep dot happy so they can look for other things
