Oh yeah, mine was way less complex to start with; two outer belts with a tension sensor, prox for door, prox for bale size and prox for twine pulley spinning. That was it. One spool for the door/hydraulic tension and one for the tie arm.
For the twine pulley I drilled a 3" hole in the sheet metal and painted black and white stripes on the pulley. A glance tells you the twine is feeding.
An older friend of mine bought a newer used baler with computer stuff on it and had absolute hell with it.
