Was pretty uneventful. Just long. I got to SLC with the bridge of my nose VERY sore from wearing that darned mask for 6 1/2 hours. Yikes that was painful. Took a cab to the U of UT and signed the papers then as promised, we removed the plow and the guy put it in the back with a forklift and I was off at about 3 PM. Google maps says it's 1315 miles and will take 19+ hours to get home. The gas tank was full when I got there. Nice bonus. I drove about 25 miles then stopped at a supermarket for groceries, water, etc for the long haul. Supermarket was busy and about 75% of the shoppers had face masks on. A lot had rubber gloves. Interstate 80 to Des Moines. I 80 means the speed limit maybe? That's what I set the cruise control at and left it all the way. Drove till about 11 pm and just into Nebraska before I quit and leaned over in the seat and slept for a few hours. Woke up and hit it again. Got home about 3:30 yesterday. Here's the pickup. 2013 2500hd. Another Work Truck - no bells or whistles. Has the snow plow and trailering packages on it. I don't need or want the plow so will sell it. Pickup had 13,336 actual miles on it when I got in it. Has 14,667 on it now.
Trip cost about $350 with the flight, taxi, fuel and one face mask.
Utah is a great state. I lived there for a year back in the early 80s. Alllmost stayed and built a life there. I really liked the people. My impression was they were not brilliant but family oriented, God fearing, honest, friendly and good. Sweet Feet, sorry, no pictures for you. Go take your own. It's beautiful there and worth the trip. I did wave your direction as I drove up I 35 going home. Thanks to all for the replies to my other post about the face mask.
