This debate is yet another subject that has been discussed over and over.
There are some of us (the majority, I think) that prefer the classic. I prefer the classic. Is one better than the other? All in the eyes of the beholder. That is why they make more than one flavor of ice cream. Some prefer chocolate, others prefer vanilla.
If one is abandoned, I would think that there would be a lot of disappointed people. Could even be bad for the forums. Many would leave here for other forums more to their liking.
Newer is not always better. Sometimes the older is the best. As evidenced by the very existence of this forum. If those new million dollar tractors that the farmer doesn't really own were so much better, this forum would be about them. As it stands, when one breaks down in the field during harvest, which one do you think is going to be back up and running first?
Back to the forum, though. Each user will use the view that suits their needs the best. Not your decision to make, Double07 or Tom in Mo. You use what you like and I will use what I like. And the decisions regarding which to abandon (or not) are strictly up to Chris and Kim.
As a side note, to the poster calling this setup a "fool's errand," I say that such a remark is uncalled for and insulting to the hosts. This system has been working for many years as it is with only some minor difficulties.
