Wanting to buy a grain cart. The positive things about an older Kinze 400 would be: 1) up front unloading auger for a good view, 2) over built main frame, 3) about as cheap as they ever are going to get - this one is $3000, 4) gear cases and drive chains are durable. The one I am looking at has decent augers - not sharp. Good bottom under the horizontal auger except for a needed patch where is meets the other auger. Upright needs a small patch as well. The rear axle has been replaced as you can see both spindles have broke at one time denting the sides. Sides have been pounded out. Looks like a new factory axle was eventually installed. The negative things would be more augers and more bearings. The used but newer side unload augers aren't built as heavy, but do have fewer augers and bearings to maintain/repair. I have seen several with patches on the main frame where it just didn't hold up. Seems like the little gear box that drives the unload auger can cause problems as many I have looked at have been replaced/repair. Thanks for any ideas.
