The weather was finally good enough to do some painting Monday in Loren's and my GBS paint booth so we fought the wind and that's what we did. The Deere 4630 is a 1974 and was my Dad's big tractor until he got his 8630-He had 24.5 x 32 tires on it and when he died I changed it to 18.4 x 38's for it was my planting and cart tractor. My son bought it from the Wife and I five years ago and is changing it to 18.4 x 42's. He used the 38 inch castings and bought 42 inch step-up rims. I used to widen a lot of wheels for tractor pullers and made a machine to rotate the rims when I cut them apart and welded them. It is driven by a hydro system off of a grocery store door opener. I made a driveshaft and adaptor to turn the wheel real slow as I painted them--works slick-paint doesn't run when it is rotating and you get great coverage. The green is original and now the yellow makes it look tired but it is 45 years old! It has been a good tractor and I think it is one of Deere's better tractors---Tee masking and warming the casting drying more front wheels done I like em
