One more question for you Bret. Is your Firefox (or ANY other program, including Windows) set to auto-update? If so, there's your problem.
It has gotten to the point where many decent programs add in additional software, which is called bloatware. I used to be on "extremely" limited internet, and software kept updating every time I'd log online. It would slow my connection to a crawl....and that was just Windows. Took a while, but I finally found every single program that auto-updates and disabled that feature. Haven't had problems for a very long time.
Another little program I can't recommend enough is uBlock Origin. That little gem will stop LOTS of bad/unwanted software from getting onto your PC in the first place.
Another option to check is, look in Firefox Menu, then Options. Go through all of the Options and remove anything related to Google. I like to use DuckDuckGo for my web browser and have all others deleted. If Google is still listed in your Firefox, then Firefox will continue reinstalling it....until you tell it NO!
Upload one or more videos to your post. Photo and video filesizes should be less than 8MB. Formats allowed are gif, jpg, png, ogg, mp4, mov, and avi. Be sure to use filenames without spaces or special characters, and filetypes of 3 digits lower case.
