: : : I need to do a thorough cleaning of my Case SC carberator. I'd like to boil it out but have never done this before. Are there any cautions on this or do I just put it in water and crank up the temp. Do I add anything to the water?
: : : Thanks in advance,
: : : Tom S. Germantown, WI

: : Tom, you can buy solvents made for carb cleaning. I'd recomend these over water. EEA

: Tom,

: I live just up the road in Oshkosh and I had a carburator that was really giving me trouble. I tried solvents and water and everything else I could think of and nothing worked. Then I when to the local small engine repair and they soaked the carb in there special carb cleaning solution for 5 minutes and the carb was clean. It cost me $5.00 to get it done. I recommend that you find a shop in the Milwaukee area that will do the same thing. It's a lot less hassle and better results!

: Let me know if you need help locating one.

Get a can of Justice Brothers Carburetor Cleaner and pour into the gas tank with 5 to 10 galons of gas. This will clean the gums and varnish out. Spraying some Justice Brothers Pressurized Carburetor Cleaner into the various openings will help also. There is a difference in the various brands of chemicals!
