: : I need to do a thorough cleaning of my Case SC carberator. I'd like to boil it out but have never done this before. Are there any cautions on this or do I just put it in water and crank up the temp. Do I add anything to the water? : : Thanks in advance, : : Tom S. Germantown, WI : Tom, you can buy solvents made for carb cleaning. I'd recomend these over water. EEA Tom, I live just up the road in Oshkosh and I had a carburator that was really giving me trouble. I tried solvents and water and everything else I could think of and nothing worked. Then I when to the local small engine repair and they soaked the carb in there special carb cleaning solution for 5 minutes and the carb was clean. It cost me $5.00 to get it done. I recommend that you find a shop in the Milwaukee area that will do the same thing. It's a lot less hassle and better results! Let me know if you need help locating one.
