$1,200 isn't bad. It's not a Vista, so top dollar fixed up you might get $6 or $7k.
They do have a lot of power, but also a lot to be desired. It depends on how much you're going to use it and what your land is like. Transmission is not synchronized at all, brakes are so-so and the 3-point/draft control is pretty confusing.
They were made for big flat fields and doing tillage work in my opinion.
Just because it runs doesn't mean there aren't issues. Ours sat for 25+ years, fired right up but had a miss. Turned out, two cracked pistons, valves badly worn and a cracked cylinder section. About $3,000 and 6 months hunting parts and the motor was fixed.
