Okay you win the 6"-8" we got here in Iowa Monday wasn't so bad after all, but the 0 degree temperatures this time of year are disheartening. When I was a young Air Force Officer I used to have to go to Calumet Air Station to inventory their ammunition, up in that part of the world they averaged 220-240 inches of snow a year, always made sure I had that visit scheduled between May 1st and October 1st as I wasn't to sure how one of those Air Force K cars would do in the snow. By the way I would drive almost 200 miles to count 50 rounds of .38 ammunition and brief their commander that they couldn't co-mingle their ammunition (not a problem they only had one lot), they had to forecast their ammunition needs (again a non factor as they didn't actually use any) and report any usage monthly (again they didn't use any and the radar was off line so I wouldn't know why anyone would attack the station). Well if I went in the fall I'd take my camera and usually got some good pictures along the way.

You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
