The flathead V-8 bolted right up to the housing but then you had to mount a radiator with two feeds and two returns. This was a common conversion and actually performed at the dealer in some instances. But finding someone to set up a flathead eight for you now-a-days is sometimes difficult and always expensive, not to mention trying to find a block that isn't cracked from the cyl wall into the valve seat. The stock flathead V-8 was 40HP and later up'd to 60HP, either would make alot of tractor without getting too wild like a 302...
