Randy - I have a question for you on the Gehl 1875 baler. I started having trouble with the hay wrapping around the top roll, of the two feed rolls.
I noticed that my air pressure for the TDC had got down to about 123psi. I am hoping that is my problem. My question to you is if you ever put air into yours. It looks like per the book that there is a air chuck type fitting up on the top of the reservoir. The book says between 140 and 150psi. Do you just stick the air hose on until the gauge reads 150psi, or do you have to mess with it to keep any air bubbles from getting into the hydraulics, or anything like that. Does it need to fill real slow, or are there any tricks? Thanks for any help you can give.
The baler was working fine, and then all of a sudden the feed started plugging up, and just plain would not feed. Hay was good and dry. A bale would start, but half of the feed would go into the bale chamber, and the other would just plug up the feed, between the rolls and the front of the machine. I'm hoping the low air pressure was not keeping the fingers down or something to keep it from backfeeding. Thanks again - Bob
