Thanks John! It was a bit of an accident. I didn't even know it was in the auction. Right next to it was the IH 56 and I had decided it was not for me. My wife was not so sure and was still looking at it. I walked away and as I did I passed this green planter. Looked at the number on the tongue and turned to my wife and said..."Gee honey, looky here...the holy grail of corn planters!" Everyone looked at me like I was nuts and I explained about all the arguing on the forum over the 800 vs the 7000. Went home and checked the current price and it was up to $1200. 24 hrs later it was still at $1200. Couple hours later it was about to sell so I bid $1300. That was all it took. Add on 10% premium and that was that. I bought an 16' IH 820 flex head at the same auction. Heavy clunker of a head but I don't have a bean head and the price was right. Auction was 10 country miles from my house. Just one of those things that works out. Heaven knows that, in a pinch, I have had to go the other way and pay too much more than once! Thanks again!
