Several weeks ago wife and I went over to Rochester, Minnesota (about 1300 miles round trip) from central Michigan. It was snow and ice all the way over and back (it was the weekend of the 200 car pile up on I94 near Battle Creek, Michigan)and got back to our hometown and wife says we should stop and get some groceries as we have very little in the house. While shopping it gets dark and on the way to the house a deer runs out between oncoming traffic and I just have time enough to think-that was close-I almost hit that deer when the second one was not so lucky. About six thousand dollars damage to a Ford Expedition. Bumper, Grill, headlights, oil cooler, radiator, fan, serpentine belt and a whole lot of small trim parts. All happened in the matter of a second and a mile and a half from home. Very thankful that it was not worse. I never remember a trip where we saw so many serious accidents.
