A year ago we traded all three of our tractors in on two with cab and air. This is another reason why cab and air tractors are nice. The only way they will start is if you are in the seat. I've only had one tractor start in gear on me and it was a 1570 Case cab and air back in the eighties. I was jumping it off with the cables on the starter rather than the batteries because it was so hard to get to the batteries on a 1570. I wasn't watching what I was doing and the cable leaned over from the weight of the cables and touched the small post on the solinoid and it turned over enough to start. I was blessed though with it being in a higher gear and it stalled when the outside dual hit my front bumper on my truck. It didn't hurt anything but I had to go back to the house and change my drawers. I've been extremely careful since and have warned others of the danger of jumping anything with a manual transmission. I also used to kick the bars around in a cotton picker until it caught my boot one day. I managed to get my foot out and scramble up in the cab and stop it to retreive my boot. It only had one hole in it. Young and dumb! I thought I was invincible. I also had two friends turn there tractors over on the Mississippi River levi bushhogging. Killed both of them. Another friend of mine had his shirt ripped off of him while standing in a grain hopper of a combine with it running. Stupid! It cut him up pretty bad. He was lucky it didn't kill him. Please be careful!
