Many of you have noticed I have asked questions this week about JD 7000 planters! I traveled an extra 350 miles this week looking at used units for sale. This was tying these trips into travels for my public job. These units were the closet I could find. I made the decision to purchase one, it was 130 mile each way from home. I went and picked it up Friday. While on the way home I stopped by the local FSA office. While inside an older gentleman (We will call him Mr. B) stopped at my truck and talked with my FIL. He had ridden with me. Mr. B had a set of 7000 planter he wanted to sell. He is 20 miles from my home! I agreed to go look at them. They are in a little better shape than the ones I bought. They have a spray barrel on them so I could spray as I planted.
He offered them at a great price. He stated he needed to make a payment this coming week. He dropped them to a better price when I told him I would let him know this coming Friday. I would like to make a counter offer at a lower price, but I do not want to take advantage of an 80 year old man.
Do I sell the set I have not unloaded? Do I keep them. Do I make a counter offer?
