1) The VIP-222 has no record capability (NOT a DVR}
The VIP-722 is a DVR. I believe both have a single OTA
(Over the Air) tuner integrated. The current 'K' suffix models
require an add on module for a dual OTA tuner.
The VIP-922 was dropped when the Hopper was introduced.
2) The 922 was 'Sling loaded' meaning there is a Sling module
built into the unit. Sling allows you to access programming
from your (in this case) Dish receiver over the internet on
your cell phone/tablet/computer if you have the Sling app
installed. Stand alone Sling Adapter is available for similar
remote use.
3) I found one forum that the poster said this about the LNBF: If "they have the DP or DP PLUS written on them. (if they do not, its a legacy twin/quad and these settings will NOT work)" Mine was a legacy lnbf. The 1000 series has the third "eye" for a third satellite which is usually where you local channels are relayed. Otherwise your main channels will still be on 110 and 119.
