The automatics of that era had many warranty issues, The transmission was made in Ohio, the plant was run by idiots. (I went there quite often in the mid-90s) I personally would make sure that the fluid was changed in the trans, this is important. The transmission was the E4OD. Electronic 4 Speed OverDrive. You also will want to check to see what a rebuilt trans would cost if needed. The trucks with the diesel engines accounted for most of the warranty issues, high torque motor straining the automatic trans. The Zed-F trans was the manual and that I was told was built like for a tank. (kinda hard to F-up a manual)
