My wife and I today turned in our leased Jeep, a 2004 Jeep Liberty. We were allowed 45K miles and it only has 44,350 miles. However the dealership says that we have to pay an extra $300 security deposit....on top of the last monthly payment. Am I getting scammed here? We turned in the jeep with no defects, just a few minor door dings, no interior damage. It feels like a last stick in the ribs by Chrysler. Of course the dealer said they would waive the $300 if we leased or bought another Chrysler car or truck. (yeah right) my final 2 cents....F-you. The dealer rep says the Jeep is in great shape and looks very good, so the $300 is not for cleaning or damage.
