Walt, good comments, here are my thoughts that you asked: My pass wasnt "free", I worked hard and saved all my life and paid taxes which went in part to maintain the parks and only now that I'm retired do I have the money, opportunity and honor to visit those places I paid for all my life. The National parks belong to you and I and all Americans and I find great peace and joy and tranquility in visiting them, but if others choose not to visit I respect their choice to stay at home, but in turn expect them to allow me my choice to visit them. That sounds reasonable to me, let each choose to visit or not... I wont hassle others to stay home to avoid overcrowding if Im not hassled if I choose to visit lol
Im sure NOT one who would want to keep young families out nor keep out seniors who paid taxes all their life that helped pay for the parks so the next generations can visit them.
I think it would be tough to pass a law limiting how many parks a person could visit and I'm sure NOT in favor of such, but if you are talk to your representatives and maybe they will take it up??
