: You are reading through the tractor talk or the tractor cafe, and you come across a subject / tractor that you could be interested in, and you click on only to find someone wants to know the value on his or her item. Do you feel like we should appraise these items or throw the mouse across the room. I dont mind helping people with there machines but this appraisal service to me is a bunch of #$@%^
I agree with you to a point. I too have posted a question regarding the value of a tractor as a favor to my father-in-law who has long since retired from farming. BUT I would just as soon know how to appraise his or my or any tractor myself. If I can't do it then I would like to know who to ask that does know how to do it. My guess is one view of any tractor is it's ability to provide a service,ie farm value, and another is it's collector value. I've written to people I thought would be able to help me find an appraisal service that knows how to rate a tractor both ways. I've asked if there is a way or place to learn how to do the appraising. I've got no responses, so I can understand a person posting a question as to value of tractors.
