Some of you may have remembered the drain/shore my 10 year old son dug in my garden last Saturday. Well, today I went to the local quarry and got 4 tonne of clean 2 inch stone. I tipped them from the trailer into the power link box and then into the shore....I hate shovelling stones!. The linkbox was then used to backfill the spoil and I then just about managed to plough the garden. Potato ground always ploughs up wet and sticky in Ireland, but this is the worst I have ever seen in this garden. Maybe something to do with the wet year we just had???? Anyhow it is ploughed now, all I need is some sunshine, some rain and some more night frosts to mellow the soil before cultivating for this season's spuds. Sam
