The cabs on the pickups and conventional mediums were basically the same. Things such as dash pads were nicer in the pickups, padded instead of a kind of hard cardboard. Seats, doors, most everything except the floor pan was the same. Parts for a 1979 7000 would match the 1973 to 1980 pickups. In 1981 the dash pad was changed in both pickups and mediums, these were used until 1987 in the pickups and I believe 1990 in the mediums. I've used a lot of pickup parts in my medium duty Chevys. The dash fascia (around the gauges) was a bit different, i.e. manual choke, warning lights, etc.
