Same old 4000 SU axle blues

I've read here that a person can get a stronger axle center for the 4000 SU that is made for some other model, but fits the 4000 SU. It's really getting old having it spradle out when moving dirt.

I haven't found any specifics on this change over. It seems like someone said the 4000 axle will do it, but my memory ain't what it used to be.

Can someone please tell me which tractor axle I can get to make this switch and/or a part number for it.

Also, I'm having trouble finding front tires for it that don't have to be mounted backwards. The wheels are 15 inch with a 5 1/2 inch back set. (I'm about ready to take them to a specialty shop and have the back set converted.) There is a 7.00-15 truck tire on it and it rubs on the knee when mounted inward. (Turning them out worsens the weak axle problem.) Is that close fit a design problem (like the axle) or do I have a bent spindle as well?

I've never bought front tractor tires, so I'm ignorant on that score.

The only thing I've found so far that seems close is a 6.70-15-06 implement tire. All the 6.00 tires I've found are 16 inch and I don't want 4.00 tires under that loader. I don't know if the word "implement" with tire is a good thing or a bad thing. I'm guessing the main difference is how much side traction they have compared to 3 rib, and I'm not concerned about that.

I'll appreciate any help, information and suggestions I can get.

JimL
