It all depends on the company and the union. Some unions are great and other's seem to think that they run the show and get to tell the company how to run their business. What's really sad is that lot's of people in management are afraid of the unions when it comes to disciplining(sp)or even firing workers who clearly deserve it. I know someone who works in healthcare and the stories I hear are mind boggling. One of the problems with a lot of unions is that they keep slackers employed just because they've been there a long time. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery.
