My wireless Internet service fell apart. It comes and goes, and when it's working the speed is about like dialup. They've checked out my computer system, and that's all good. I think the wireless company has big time equipment issues, but all they do is blame the poor and unacceptable service onto factors that existed already when the service was still working fine.
DSL is not an option, 'cause I live in a mile wide dead zone between two DSL transmitters.
Kinda out of desperation, because my livelyhood depends on being online with the faster the service the better, I signed up with Hughes satellite service. They'll install it next Wednesday.
I'd appreciate hearing any comments from anyone who has Hughes, good, bad, and ugly. I'd expect it to lose signal during a bad thunderstorm occasionaly, but my wife says we shouldn't be online during a thunderstorm anyway. Cost of the service actually comes out slightly less than my current wireless.
