I have a Fiat 130-90 that comes with bolt-on PTO extensions for 540/1000. I took off the 540 and went to put on the 1000 and realized there is a 'spring pin' (that's what the manual calls it) that prevents me from fitting on the 1000rpm extension.
This spring pin is about a 1/2" diameter shaft that sticks out 3/4" and runs directly in the middle of the shaft. It fits inside a drilled slot in the 540 extension, but the 1000 extension does not have this drilled slot -- so it just butts up flush against the flange. I am not sure if this is intentional or not, but it seems like I am missing something.
Would anyone know what I'm supposed to do? I didn't take a picture, but this is what the extension looks like:
