I all so figured the warranty was only good to the original purchaser. I have only taken back one ratchet years ago and had no trouble but the replacement was only half as good. As far as life time warranties go I figure if my truck brakes down at 3am when it is thirty below zero and I have to walk 10 miles to get home because a tool broke I am not going to be smiling on the way home thinking how lucky I am that the tool will be replaced. I have seen Chinese tools with life time warranties all so, just send it back postage paid to the manufacture and they will fix or replace it. I once bought a set of $4.95 headphones at radio shack and the guy behind the counter was able to stand there with a straight face and ask me if I would like to buy an extended warranty for only $19.95. I figured he must be used to dealing with people that are a sleep or in a real hurry.
