Interesting that bit about the tires. Didn't know there are special mobil home only tires. I'm going to have to go crawling under a mobile home or two just to find that wording so I'll know where to look in the future. I'll be the tires are DOT approved, but only for that specific application. They aren't about to let you onto the highways with non-DOT tires. I'm positive you're not quite right about the brakes. Brakes are required on axles above a certain gross vehicle weight for the trailer. It is not inherent to having dual axles that dual brakes are required. If I chose to bolt several axles under my tiny motorcycle trailer, I am not required to install brakes on them. Only if I go above whatever the gross vehicle weight requirements are for that brake configuration will I be required to have dual axle brakes.
