J Hook, YOU asked!! H3LL Yes you wasted your $$$$!!! A loose engine on factory LP First of get it to run on LP, There are many way to keep it running on LP!! I would Not have changed to gasoline At all. Unless it was absolutely necessary. Here in Texas where LP ruled for many, many yrs, IMO you decreased the value of you tractor. Dont spend the money to convert the 400LP till you have exausted all avenues of operating it on LP. You gave away all the extra parts off the tractor you just converted. Bet you didn't even bring them home! I pulled a 1966, IH 656 LP out of the weeds 2 summers ago. Really nice little tractor, #2 cylinder pumps a little oil, other than that rock solid. OBTW Bet you have never seen a 656 LP! Currently I know of 7 in the State of Texas!!! Dont make a mistake till you have done due diligence! Later, John A.
The SMTA-LP is a highly sought-after tractor The 400-LP is a more refined SMTA-LP. So Do Not make a BIG mistake by ripping the LP off and not even trying to get the LP to work. 400 gas are nothing spectacular the LP is more unique. Hope this helps. jas
